Portmeirion

Portmeirion. the unique Italianate village private village that was created by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, using a combination of rescued architectural follies and specially designed buildings which provide a fascinating mix of architectural styles.
Situated between Porthmadog and Harlech it is surrounded by the Gwyllt woodland gardens containing many rare Himalayan flowering trees and other exotics. Sir Clough Williams-Ellis built Portmeiron between 1925 to 1972. Portmeiron was the setting for the 1960's cult television series 'The Prisoner'
